One hour enamel: the beginner's perfect paint

If there is one paint that does it all and cures in 1 hour or under this is it. Imagine achieving perfect results even with tough colors, like black. In most cases, no need to prime and it self levels like a dream. No top coat needed either (and that is a huge plus because many disasters happen when topcoating: streaks, brush strokes, uneven curing) which also slashes off precious time. It is simply the best: tough, durable, with a beautiful satin sheen. Can be waxed if desired. Pair it with the a couple of cling on brushes and you are all set for success. I was browsing in a somewhat unhappy state at a local shop in Kensigton that sells paint. Did not want chalk paint, and had not much luck with other brands: they needed primer which was was a smelly affairs and they left brush strokes no matter what. I saw this brand off the shelf, a bit pricey for sure but the owner was wise enough to have left samples of painted wood and I was impressed. Did I use other brands? Of course! Is there one brand I cannot do without? Yes, and that is Wise Owl one hour enamel. In the end, failing and having to strip a piece again leads to frustration and wasting time and money. When a paint fails you, you throw it, simple as that. Wise Owl delivers, every time, consistently and beautifully. It is the one paint that you can count on and this is huge. As you gain more confidence and more skills, you can explore and ever expanding, mystical and mysterious world of paints but in the few first attemps, a starting kit with Wise Owl one hour enamel is what I consider the Holy Grail of the DYI. What is in a starter kit? Keep it simple: one bucket of paint in the color of your choice and two or three ClingOn brushes: you want a medium and a small for finer details. The cling ons are super durable and are design to work with the One Hour Enamel. Investing early in your brushes is the smartest thing you can do for your finished project. Poor brushes equal poor performance. If you wish to splurge add a furniture tonic. Apply it to drawers for optimal wood conditioning and enjoy their heavenly scents.
